Academics - First Year

This program includes instruction in Relationship with God, Basics of Righteousness, Receiving from God, Old Testament Survey, and many other classes that will give the student a solid biblical foundation. Emphasis will be on faith, grace, and walking with the Holy Ghost through the work of the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Another aspect of the Bible Training Institute program is "practical ministry." Academics are important, but those who are going into the ministry must know how to do the work of the ministry. We strive for a balance between a knowledge of Scripture and practical ministry experience.

A student enrolled in the Bible Training Institute program will be required to volunteer 25 hours per term in practical ministry in either a local church, Andrew Wommack Ministries, Charis Bible College, or any CBC-approved ministry. There are many opportunities to serve depending on one's interests, talents, and available time.

Through the Bible Training Institute, a student will not only be prepared with a proper biblical understanding, but will receive training in the practical application, to meet the needs of God's people and to bring the lost into the kingdom of God.

Upon the satisfactory completion of this program, a student will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students must finish this program before entering the second-year program.

First Year Course

BIBLE TRAINING INSTITUTE*

Course Title: Relationship with God Series I - IV
Instructor: Andrew Wommack
Class Hours: 20
This study emphasizes four important truths about God and man’s relationship with Him. The Nature of Godis a study of God that distinguishes between His character and His acts, contrasting the Old Testament with the New Testament. Hardness of Heart deals with one of the major barriers that keep us from accepting all of God’s truth. Authority of the Believer helps us receive the blessings God has for us and shows us how to stop Satan from robbing us. God’s Not Guilty shows us from Scripture that God is not the author of our problems, nor does He cause bad things to happen to us.

Course Title: The Basics of Righteousness I & II

This class teaches about our Spirit, Soul, and Body and Identity in Christ. Spirit, Soul, and Body is a study that explains how our spirits are complete in Jesus if we are born again and how our souls and bodies should relate to our spirits. The Identity in Christ study shows us from Scripture who we are in Christ—our righteousness and justification.

This class covers the subjects of Prayer, Healing, Blessings and Miracles, and Harnessing Your Emotions.

Course Title: A Sure Foundation I & II

Two subjects are covered in this class. The Integrity of the Word expounds on the truth, surety, and infallibility of God’s Word. Christian Philosophy shows us that we all have a system of thought, but challenges us to examine if it is according to the Word or the world.

Course Title: Old Testament Survey I - VI

This is an overview of the Old Testament. In this class, students will study the author, historical setting, purpose, and theme of each book; special attention is given to some of the key passages.

Course Title: The Holy Spirit I - III

This is an exciting class that discusses the Person and the work of the Holy Spirit. Not only will you learn how He has worked throughout history, but how He works in your life.

Course Title: Bible Covenants I & II

The purpose of this study is to learn about the nature of God as revealed in the covenants He has made with men, in order to develop our faith in God as a way of life today. We will begin with God’s covenants with Adam, Abraham, and Israel, and then we will consider the new covenant fully revealed in the New Testament.

So now I don’t worry about the details of the future because I have realised that I have been called to be loved by God and it is ‘in’ Christ that my calling is fulfilled.

  • I once laid hands on a deaf man’s ears and witnessed him hear for the first time. His eyes spoke more of the experience than what his mouth could for he still spoke like a dumb man. As he wept and shouted he could do no more than hug me and jump with excitement. Within a short time he ran with great haste toward his home with the Good News. I have learned that the Word of God works, believe the word and you will receive the manifestation of the word.
